Exactly 3 years ago, on the day of Steve Jobs's resignation as Apple CEO, Gruber wrote this line:

Jobs’s greatest creation isn’t any Apple product. It is Apple itself.

I think it sums up perfectly what is clear now: that Apple was fully prepared for the leadership transition to come.
